Heavy and Hard Faces

"Dumbbells."
Students who can't stand on their own feet,
The world can't tell them apart from the rest,
For they rely on others to make their way,
Which leads to a life of dismay.
Their parents have done all that they can,
But still they don't know where they stand.
It seems they will never learn.
In life, they will always yearn.
They are easily swayed by their peers.
They never make up their own minds.
Always looking for an easy way out,
What a miserable life there's no doubt.
The future is looking very bleak,
They've been given everything, yet still seek,
Helping hands to get them through,
But it's not something they'll ever do.
If only they'd take the time to think,
To learn from mistakes and not be a shrink,
They'd be able to finally stand on their own two feet,
And accomplish all their goals, however sweet.
However, they keep relying on others,
And their life is just getting worse,
It's time to take the reins of their destiny,
And face life with courage and dignity.
There is no need to be so dependent,
You can make your own decisions,
It's time to stand up and be strong,
And no longer rely on someone else to get along.
Make a plan and stick to it,
And soon you'll see the benefit,
It takes effort and dedication,
But you will soon reach your destination.
It may be a hard road to take,
But if you keep your focus then you make,
A better life for yourself,
And be proud of your wealth.
So take the time to stand on your own feet,
Life is too short to be dependent,
You must take charge of your destiny,
And never rely on someone else to make it through.
